Here are my images. Pics were very hard to take because of the shape of the coin. I tried to take pics under different lighting sources but it was just plain difficult.

Here are some other pics showing the thickness of the NGC slabs. IMG_4235.JPG IMG_4238.JPG The bottom pic shows the silver dollar slab on the bottom and the half dollar slab on top which was the same as the gold $5 coin.

PCGS Slabs. The UNCs were even harder to photograph. I thought it would be the opposite. The bottom pics show the thickness of the slabs compared to a regular slabs.

Joe, thanks for your pics particularly the angled view of slabs and the really tight enclosure of the white NGC insert. I saw it in their website but they only post such small images there. I think the coins would look much better in retro black insets but will always personally prefer the style of edge view we get from PCGS to that of NGCs thick stumps holding coins-- especially on smaller diameter coins.

I can see how the curvature of the coin makes for some difficult hot spots when shooting pics. Thanks again for posting so many views of the new coins.

Looks like the value of these continue to rise on eBay. They were closing in the high $500s and now they're creeping into the low $600s. Will we see $700 tomorrow? Can't wait to cherry pick the good ones and send them off to PCGS

Ask me about holding real physical precious metals in an IRA or HSA plan.

3 of my 4 silver items are scheduled for 4/1 shipping (although listed as backorder). My gold order still doesn't show up, although it's what shows in the detail for the last order window, and that status shows SOLD OUT.... We'll see what happens...

  12. When did you place the gold order?

That's what mine shows today. Yesterday it was 3/31. Looks like the mint is doing the same thing that they did when we ordered the 2009 ultra high relief coins........

Why do you think I said silly money? Frankly you take the regular graded coins out of the slab and you can't get them back into the same grades again either. Paying a big premium for a 70 over a 69 is silly too.

I believe it was the fourth first spouse coin when the advance subscription orders exceeded the entire mintage.

I think the only time it was tried was with the buffalo dollar when the Museum of the American Indian tried to get an additional 250,000 authorized when they saw the coin was going to be a very rapid sellout.

I got into the waiting room right at 12noon. Competed my transaction in the first hour. I see my order listed "backordered" and now the home page says "sold out"

What does "backordered" mean? Does it mean I am within the 50,000 coins but they still have to mint the coin? I would assume they didn't stamp all 50,000 and have them sitting around.

Backordered means the item is currently out of stock or unavailable but the business expects the item to be available again in the future. With the mint the term is used to convey that they don't have the item on the shelf but expect to have it shortly (soon). This, as opposed to the term 'out of stock' which means sorry Charlie, no soup for you......
