I got confused. So 2014 was the 1st show and they've put out a 2105 medal for next year. Well, I hope it pans out.
We are very excited about the 2015 show! Andrew (Andy) Fitzsimmons of Elephant Ear Studios out of Owego, NY is going to produce 125 hand numbered coffee mugs with the 2015 medal likeness hand die stamped into each. You can find out more information at: http://www.battlefieldcoinshows.com/15Gburg.html Andy will be giving away the die used to stamp each mug.
You know I want one Mike And after last year's show I'll be back this year. The show is about 1.25 hour drive from my location. I guess what I liked best about last year's show was it was well organized , dealers from locations that had plenty of fresh inventory to cherry pick. I loved the spider press and won a door prize of one of the number prints. Mike, Alan & Company did a great job setting up and promoting the show. Almost all The dealers I know here were set up at this show. All were very pleased with the crowd and sales. I also enjoy the New Market show . Yes it's a smaller show but again for me worth the 1.5 hour drive. BTW yes I have all the show medals ! And plan to buy any others the group has minted for future shows. The issue price is well worth their quality ! Just one other point .... I like how these guys roll...... meaning they take the time with YN'S to educate and pass on their their passion for the hobby of Numismatics. Two Thumbs Up Guys ! Here's just one of the Cherry picks I got at this show. an 1876 SLQ MPD and nicely toned.
I got my 2017's last week The new 2017 National Battlefield Coin Show™ medal is in and is nicer than before. This year's medal features the inaugural promotional picture of Alan, Bill and (Mike Dixon) in front of an enameled American flag. The reverse features the Pennsylvania 17th Cavalry Regiment Regiment, 2nd Brigade, 1st Division of the Army of the Potomac of the Union Army monument in Gettysburg National Military Park.
I had no idea you were Mike. Still like last year's better: ....not that it'll stop me from getting this year's, too.
Definitely planning on making the show this year. Gotta tour the battlefield too, so I hope to spend a few days there..........the camper is warmed up and ready to go.
These are pretty cool. I wish the show's around here did annual medals like these. It would be fun to pick some up and pass them around to other collectors around the country that can't make a trip. I miss all the big shows because most of them are on the East Coast. Every 5 years or so the ANA's Money Show comes here to Portland and I just missed the last one 2 years ago.
