I been after this seated gal for six years. A deal was finally struck last weekend and now she resides with me….. Ever had a coin show up in your dreams? Yep, this is that coin for me….. Sadly, the slab is absolutely hideous. I just spent a little time with the lens polish but it’s going to take a lot more elbow grease. Gawd, I love this coin.
Thank you! I never chased toned coins. Always been a blast white guy. But this one sucked me in hook, line and sinker.
Very nice coin. It's a great feeling to finally get that dream coin. As to the slab scratches, I've had zero luck polishing NGC slabs. Tried many products and much time and effort at it. Much less effort polishes up PCGS slabs nicely. If you ultimately don't feel you've achieved what you want, then consider submitting for a reholdering.
I go either way. I have a short set of walkers and I went blast white with those. Morgans can be either for me, a nice toner in that design is something to behold as well. This newp of yours reminded me of the seated dime I have in my type set. I’ll have to dig that beauty out. Mind if I post it up here with yours?
Great! Yes, coin porn, that is a very real addiction! Here’s the seated dime in my type set. The obverse is completely toned and I couldn’t get a great pic of that side. The reverse pic turned out better and that side has the bullseye toning like yours, and was the reason I picked this one up.
I think our coins are related, probably cousins though….. yours being the PF66 with the coveted *. Mine comes in at MS61.
Randy, You admired this sweetie once before. Maybe the two are kissing cousins along with the @BuffaloHunter coin. Not as dramatic as some of the other examples but pretty none the less. MS-64
Randy, that beauty was worth the wait. Congrats on a stellar score. Not sure what you've been using to clean the holder, but Novus 1 (blue), 2 (red) & 3 (green) have been successful polishes for me.
Very nice Randy. The thread title told me it was toning to be a Liberty Seated Coin. She’s a beauty. Congratulations! Here’s my favorite Liberty Seared Dime from my collection. She’s a beauty , toned in blue and raw.
