    I looked at it earlier. What I question is the weird damage to the upraised rim.
    I also thought Dropped element but I can't say that it definitely could be.

    The rim was scraped and what looks like a 9 is the left over metal.

  8. Thanks for your responses. I don't think left over metal could so uniformly form the 9 we see.

    It sure didn't happen at the mint. You have PMD (rim) that is touching this curved metal. Where would it, or could it have come from?
