Where counterfeits go to die. Much thanks to the fine folks at ANACS for the final word on this long suspected baddie. Measurements were just close enough for genuine but not quite on the mark so I spent a little coin and included it in a recent submission batch. My fears confirmed it met my work bench this morning, making sure it won't be fooling anyone else from now on. Might become a pocket piece.
Next week you'll get a correction letter in the mail advising you that they were incorrect about it being a counterfeit.
LOL, I kind of doubt that. This coin has been on my suspect list for a while. I finally decided to submit it while sending in a batch of other stuff. It just affirmed what I already believed. All the tests I conducted were borderline inconclusive already.. weight, metal content, specific gravity, etc. Everything was almost correct but off just a little bit one way or another. Plus I got to use my new set of punches
