So I had this itch to fill a tube of nickels, but my local dealer didn't have any lose nickel coins, but he could sell me some European golden colored nickels... A bit pricier than than your typical US nickels, and for some reason their price keeps going up every time gold goes up (not sure what that's about), but I'm determined to fill the tube up eventually. Mostly French, Belgian, Swiss, and Italian nickles from the early 1800s to the early 1900s. Ok, all joking aside, here's my progress with Latin Monetary Union type gold coins. That's some .1867 oz, 21K golden goodness from Europe for you fans of European gold. Enjoy!
I think vintage LMU gold is one of the best ways to stack some bullion because you get nice designs and some history with your bullion, without much of a premium over spot.
