I let this one slide past with no bids on the auction.. I had liked it but his "opening bid" was over list and you know me (cheap sob) so I let it go by to bad so sad... Tonight I got an offer from the seller for considerably under list... so sometimes waiting actually works lol

Anyhoo, here she is my new w/motto seated lib half.
    Watcha think she grades :D
    (F-12 maybe lol (sowwy Sal couldn't resist ;) ))

Has a full but weak LIBERTY. Lacks the necessary gown detail for a 40. I will guess 25/30. James

Well you stopped the downward slide. The guesses are interesting. The wear ( or strike weakness) seems a bit unusual perhaps ??

Yes longshot. Many Seated Half Dollars tend to have odd strike wear patterns. Notice she has a full foot with split from the sandal. The shield detail and most of the lower half of the coin look as good as choice 45. the upper half lacks hair detail, the gown line is weak and there seems to be no clasp. half the fingers grasping the pole are gone/missing.
the reverse knocks her down a further notch. That is why I guessed what I did. just my opinion and worth exactly what was paid for it. James

Never been so far off. I think the darkness of the coin hid images from my older eyes. Nice coin.

I would give it a VF-25 because of the weak LIBERTY. The gown details look better, but the head is flat.

There way too much wear on that coin to call it “EF,” but that’s grade-flation for you.
