1987 D 5C with edge details

  1. Recently found i a bank roll of Jefferson Nickels. What is this called, I sure don't know, finning, bars?

    I agree with Ed. I think you’ll find that in the 80s that this condition was quite prevalent. If you CRH a bit, you will find this to be true. The thing to watch for are MS grade 1982, 1983, and 1987 (both mints) nickels. These are sought after to some degree. And because of this, you’ll find many with die deterioration.
