What is the difference, and which one is the better quality? They both seem to be made by Whitman. http://www.whitmanbooks.com/Default.aspx?Page=61
I've personally, for almost the past 30 years, have always used Whitman Classic Albums and have found that they've worked out great for me. When I first started collecting I used the Whitman folders because I couldnt afford the albums. I honestly cant give an opinion about the Harris products because I've never had any experience with them.
I like the Whitman folders better. I have 2 Harris cent folder, but i don't really like all the coins depicted on the front of them. I guess it's just personal preference.
Whitman folders/albums have blue covers, with no coin pictures. Harris uses brown with a very busy coin design.
I am a fan of Whitman books. Simple and inexpensive. I like to save my money for more worthwhile coin purchases. I just keep the books for what I find in pocket change.
I like them also. The presidential dollar albums are especially nice. I've become somewhat apprehensive about hearing that coins will tone in them over time. I have 5 albums full of uncirculated state quarters. So far at least in one year, they haven't toned at all. What's been your experience?
Ive had a complete franklin set that my grandpa gave me when i was 5, that he put together in 95, and they have started to tone withen the past couple years.
The cheapest place I've found for Dansco albums is Brooklyn Gallery of Coins (www.brooklyngallery.com). Aside from low prices, they have volume discounts if you buy 6 or more albums at a time. They also have great customer service.
