So i was in a hurry today friday night live was going on down on the main street downtown. my lcs was just about to close he turned off the open sign right before i got there. he let me in any ways .
I grabbed the only bi 40% ike he had. I didnt even look at because ive seen it there before.

Im 99 percent positive i bought a proof and not the bu one i needed opps.

im pretty sure ive figured out which type it is. My question is which type is the rarer or more valuable proof type that i should be looking for

I'm pretty sure there is only one type for proof and silver BU bicentennial IKE's... So you bought the right one. Type 1 & Type 2 are for the clad only P & D mints.

I think they are equal in value, unless the silver BU is extremely GEM like ms67 or higher. The proof would be of high value at pf70 but I'm not sure that is possible.

Lol maybe ill put it in the trade forum to get the one that matches the other two or maybe ill just get proofs to match this one

Maybe you should know what you're buying "before" you buy it??

BTW, stay off of that Rinky Dink web page you posted since nobody EVER determines the Type of an Eisenhower Dollar by the "R" on the Obverse. Yes, the "R" is different but not in the way they've described it. Type 1 BiCentennials have PegLeg R's (where the "left" leg is straight) and the Type 2 BiCentennials have a "funny foot" serifed R.
In reality "TYPE" is ALWAYS determined by the Reverse of the coin where on the Type 1 Reverse, the lettering appears wide but it has no serifs while the Type 2 Reverse lettering appears narrow and has serifs.

Additionally, the 40% Silver coins are available as Business Strikes (in Uncirculated 3 coin mint sets) OR as Proof Strikes (again in 3 coin sets)

I have no idea what those folks were thinking but they are incorrect in their descriptions which is what is confusing you.
