Sumzmommy I'm always looking for the next burried treasure

20160626_030024.jpg So I have this 1969 S penny that has some errors, I'm just not sure what to call them. Tell me what you think!!!
*On the rim of the penny,
*mark on the reverse side on the left *another mark through Liberty
*the word America sticks out, and it appears to be more bold
    * the color of the rim, Lincoln, and the words shine brighter than the penny? 20160626_024218.jpg 20160626_024554.jpg

None of the things you mentioned were caused during the minting process. It's one thing for someone to just say "Yes" or "No", but the important thing for you to learn is "How". Once you learn the "How", things like this will become easy to identify. So, I'm going to leave it to you to tell us how these things occurred after it left the Mint.

It's like learning how to drive a car. It may look easy when one of your parents gets behind the wheel, but it's a different ballgame when you are behind the wheel and your parent says, "Go!"

Looks like a dryer coin. In a pocket over multiple washes and drys maybe.

Looks like it has road rash from being run over by a car in a parking lot a few times.

All pennies are keepers! It's still worth at least a penny no matter what.

But what if it's cut in half. Wouldn't each piece then change to a half cent :wacky:

Definitely looks like severe PMD. Though keep your eyes open if you find any more '69 S Penny's, there is a valuable doubled die.

You should be able to turn in the 1/2plus piece for a new cent?

Doesn't look like any of that was caused by the mint.except for the die crack at the bottom reverse

I have a 196? Penny that is smaller than dime, is missing the entire in god we trust, missing most of liberty and the last date digit. Possibly worth anything? And a 1944 steel wheat penny

This thread is 8 years old. Post a new topic with images. Somebody else just posted about a 1944 steel cent and resurrected another ancient thread. You can buy counterfeits of them on the Chinese website for $1, so don't get your hopes up.
