Greetings I just felt compelled on posting this screenshot somebody selling 1982 close am Lincoln cent. I'm the one who said I never heard of a 1982 close am Lincoln cent. Can you tell me more. His reply follows after words. I am beside myself I've been in the game long enough to know there is no 1982 close am. Or is there, he he. Enjoy.... Screenshot_20230617-210613.png

Avoid him! Close and far AM’s are not errors. They are varieties. And that price is ridiculous.

Tell the guy he has no clue what he is talking about. There isn't an AM variety for 82. Both copper and the zinc are going to strike up different. Add in that the dies were overused so the spacing will diminish as the devices wear out and get larger.

A lot of newbies are now mixing one issue with another. 1982 has the Copper Small Date Denver Minted variety. You are correct that the issue of Close AM vs. Wide AM does not apply to 1982 Cents. It's just total ignorance. I've also seen listings for CAM's and WAM's for Quarters.. Ridiculous!
