I've always found coins coming out of West Point to be quite fascinating, starting with the 1996-W Roosevelt dime. While West Point has produced countless beautiful commemorative coins and continues to supply American Eagle bullion coins, I've always been exceptionally drawn to the occasional circulation-type coin they've minted. I've compiled what I believe to be a complete, small set of all the circulation-design (ie. non-commemorative, non-bullion) coins coming out of West Point. That's not to say these were ever meant for circulation - outside the 2019-2020 quarters, these have only been included in collector sets - however, the designs themselves are what I consider circulation designs. Most recently of course, I, like many folks, have been interested in the 2019-2020 West Point quarters. I've put together two Set Registry entries for these -- I was hoping to see a 2020-W business strike nickel and the 2021-W Tuskegee quarter, but unfortunately covid-19 prevented that from happening. Prior to 2019, West Point famously did strike circulation Washington quarters in the 1970s and 1980s; however, these were intentionally indistinguishable from Philadelphia ones. I've always thought that TPGs would have a field day if an official West Point mint bag of quarters was discovered buried in the back of a bank vault.
Love the set. Don’t worry the mint will do W Covid-19 unfortunately. I loved when they did the dime. I didn’t know then but then the others. Was nice
I just love the West Point Mint both proofs and business strikes here’s a couple of my examples and will for sure be looking to add to it
Copy that, but the so called beauty with @Dima set is that they're Everyman, meaning that folks with limited means can accomplish just such........there in lies the beauty.
I may also have to borrow the idea…. Mine might be raw though. I have a few of the entries already, the quarters might be the harder ones.
Happy to see some interest in such a set. Since I believe no coin collection is complete without tables/databases and books, thought I'd share little info I'd put together --
Is it considered a "privy mark" if the device is universal in the design and/or doesn't denote any change in the composition? If it's universal to that issue is it a variety?
