    Hey guys,

So I have seen many listings on eBay with old looking bank bags. Is it possible that people can do what they do for unsearched rolls of coins; can people reproduce the bags and resell them at a higher price because they are "old"? If so, what distinguishes authentic old ones from the fake old ones? Also, if you have any old bank bags, please send me pictures because I would like to see all the different types of authentic bank bags that you guys have! Thanks for any help!!! : )

Even old bank bags can be easily resealed/resewn.

I've always wanted one of those big bank bags that held morgan dollars though to find one on sale is practically impossible. I got to see two in the coin show I went to this weekend.

Also the bag you have is modern, the writing was most likely drawn by hand and was probably made by an employee of BoA. There are bank of america bags that look like that but considering it was written with a pen it is most likely an employee-made reproduction. (Keep in mind Bank of America opened in 1998).

Actually, 1904 as Bank of Italy in San Francisco. In 1922, it became Bank of America.

I’m curious, what are you planning on doing with mint bags?

Here is a bag from The Royal Canadian Mint. Not necessarily a bank bag but thought it might be interesting anyway. The bag measures 13 wide x 18in long, doubled sewed along seams and bottom corners. Dillan

    This one I've had for years. It's 5 1/2 x 9. 20180826_212547.jpg

Partially. Everyone is right. I am a BOA self enthusiast as my Husband works there. Every one of you has part of the history correct! It was originally the Bank of Italy. Then Bank of America in '22. From there until 1998 it was BOA and in 1998 after an acquisition of BOA by NationsBank in the largest bank acquisition in history at that time, it became Bank of America Corporation.

I just like old things. Also, my favorite type of toning is fabric toning, which is where the Morgan dollar gets the impression of the fabric from the bag on it, so it would be cool to have a fabric toned Morgan dollar and a Morgan dollar bag to make a nice duo.

My grandfather used this bank coin bag for storing tools.

Crocker First National Bank coin bag

The Crocker First National Bank was an early 1960's bank based in San Francisco.

And yes, I cleaned it. I ran it through the washing machine.

Just get a burlap sack with a large $ symbol on it like they used to use in cheesy bank robber movies :)
