That's right the new Vaultbox "funbox" series issues tomorrow at noon Limit of 3 at $165 each Big prize this time is a 1873 s T$1 MS64/9.4 and lots of Morgan CCs and other goodies I did well with my 2 series 7s so you can bet I'll be getting my limit of 3 on these.. With a MUCH MUCH MUCH better system to handle the buying load then the US Mint. Aww hell take a look yourself https://vaultbox.com/product/funbox-july-2024/
I guess I got remix and funbox mixed up. I was going over the list, wondering where the ancients were.
yeah "remix" was the last one with lots of ancients.. this one is loaded with morgans and other goodies I'd be happy to get in that price range.. and the "consolation" or lesser prizes could be a lot worse
I decided to give it a try, so I bought one. Waited in "line" for 24 minutes. Undecided if I open it or just put it on ebay and see what happens there...
To me it's like buying scratch-offs. But if you enjoy the thrill and can afford to throw money at it, I can't argue. Just remember that the house always wins.
I got my 3 ordered all nice and easy (was in the queue at 1201, had my order done by 1220 ) An yes it is a bit of a "Scratch card" kinda gamble but at the same time every "card" is a winner as even the "losers" have a reasonable value.. so yeah there is a risk factor but with a 1 in 4 chance at a good prize it's not a bad deal in my book
They released it at about the worst possible time for me. I had decided to be wild and crazy and give it a go, but by the time I could look on my phone at 12:45, there wasn't even a 'buy' button. However if I would have to wait in line I would have just dumped it. I'd be much wiser just to go to my LCS. I could probably even get a moderate toner. The only things I would have been happy with were the gold nuggets, the shipwreck coins, or the Morgan dollars. I would have been an unhappy camper with the 1c, 5c, shark coin or the proof coins. For $20 less, I just made a buy featuring a delightfully eclectic mix of raw ancients.
I too got in and made purchase effortlessly and agree it is a crap shoot. But then again I've made plenty of USM's too (ASE, Morgs and Peace dollars). Never seen the Mint throw in a $5000 bounty coin or a $50,000 coin and they have the Assads Cabinet. Guess if I get a $80 coin for $160 not much different from Mint.
I was up in Fargo again for another medical run. I gave the boy my login info and he jumped online and scored us two! Tracking states I'm to have them Saturday. I think I'll hang on to them until next Wednesday, which is my birthday. Purple core for a birthday present?? Good luck and happy finds to all that jumped in! Post them here so we can see the loot!
Well it made it from Calif. to Maine under two days impressive. Partial reveal until more post I'll open then Unopened fun pack (1) weighs in at 68.58 grams!
There is alway Seth Chandlers Witter Brick...at least the receiver will be sent CACG graded items. If I am going to gamble, I would like to recoup something close to 50% market in return, as a minimum.
Well 2nd revel ( it is a purple core) ! Waiting until Tues evening in honor of Buffalo Hunter's B-Day!!!!
I'm glad the second reveal is a purple core. Let's hope it's one of the better ones. This time I came close to taking the plunge. It wasn't *too* much of a ripoff this time and I would have been happy with a decent Morgan. I ended up making my own funbox. Looking at the list of ancients in the 'remix' category it's hardly any surprise they were sent back in. I would have been happy with most of them, just not at that price point. The NGC ancients also tend to be blast white, which isn't all that prized in ancients world.
My birthday present showed up today. Got the weights but will hold until Wednesday. I’m taking a stab that the heavier one is a silver dollar. Not sure on the other, possibly a cent.
