I found this 2020 Weir Farm quarter today at work and noticed it has V75 at the left of the obverse. I'm guessing it's the 75th anniversary of something, could use some explaining, thanks.
I think the mint mentioned that they'd be doing some counterstamping with these (issues). Heck of a find, my friend........
'V75' for WW2 victory anniversary. They had to come up with something, and the 100th anniversary of giving the vote to women must have slipped their minds.
@Jason is new Here is a thread I created.. https://www.cointalk.com/threads/2020-w-mint-mark-quarter-privy-mark.353776/ Nice find!
There's a whole commemorative series planned for later this year featuring women's suffrage. Why have a privy mark as well? For that matter, why have a privy mark at all?
Ha Ha! Not sure if your comment was meant to be funny, but it nudged me in that direction. Good one! And yeah, Im all seriousness, that would have been a well deserved remembrance on a quarter.
OK, so how about the 100th anniversary of the start of Prohibition? They don't have a commemorative coin series for that. (Prohibition was passed in 1919, but took effect January 16, 1920.)
