I had been looking for this Sestertius for a while. The type is not really rare but still hard to find for a reasonable price. I already had this coin on my vcoins wish list and decided that this example is good enough for me. In my eyes it is one of Trajan's most intriguing Sestertii. Especially considering that the conquest of Dacia has had major consequences for Trajan, the empire and the Dacians.

@Curtisimo wrote a great piece about the Dacian wars. It is therefore not my intention to do this again: https://www.cointalk.com/threads/trajan-the-best-emperor-and-the-mystery-of-the-river-god.318843/

This coin is another nice continuation of my Trajan collection. And I'm probably going to focus entirely on his coins.

Please show your coins of Trajan, coins that commemorate victories, or anything else that you find relevant.

    Trajan? - Check
    Victory? - Check
Commemorating a victory? - Not so much...But I only have 3 Trajans so it will have to do. Plus I like the portrait :)

For the Dacian war, I have this denarius showing a mourning Dacia:

And for the Parthian war, these sestertii showing Rex Parthis Datis (A King Given to Parthia) and Regna Adsignata (Kingdoms Assigned):

Cool version of "Dacia Victa"! Second Dacian war, I believe.

Here's one of Trajan honoring Mars, the war-god who made it all possible. This is my favorite coin of Trajan in my collection:

'Special' Trajan Sestertii are, as you say, not really rare but most I see are well worn. They must have remained in circulation for a long time.

Great addition @Parthicus Maximus . I have always thought that one could focus on just coins issued under Trajan and put together a really great collection. I find more interest in his reverse types as a group than any other emperor.

Here are a few of my Trajan’s for the thread.
