I keep getting mail from National Collector's Mint saying they've taken the liberty to reserve x number of coins in my name, being a "VIP". I've only ever purchased one thing from them to acheive this VIP status... Anyway, I was just wondering what you all thought of them?
If you like their products fine - if you don't I would ignore them. Very few, if any, of the items they produce are actually worth the purchase price should you ever try to sell them. But different people collect different things for different reasons. American Mint produces silver rounds, jewelry and medallions - they do not produce coins. So if that is the kind of stuff you like - more power to ya
Yeah, the one thing I bought from them was made to sound like it was a real coin. I was very disappointed and annoyed when I opened the package and found a "coin" with COPY on it. I called them to express my dissatisfaction and they told me that it was a "real coin"...it just wasn't "legal tender". What a cop-out...but that's what they told me. Anyway, I'll never buy anything from them again. It seems like false advertising to me. GDJMSP - I agree, but I don't like that they make it sound like it's a genuine coin when in fact it's just a replica. If they made it clear that it was only a replica that would be different. Wow...talk about being redundant in my post...oh well I guess I was redundant (again).
