I noticed a thread last year (www.cointalk.com/t55843-5/#post758918) discussing the value of this set and thought someone might be able to offer additional insight. I have a complete set (50) of the silver bars. I know the spot price of silver has gone up dramatically since 2009 and is hovering above $19.50 per ounce. I also have read in more than one location that a complete set of these ingots is somewhat rare. I found one listing on EBay (http://bit.ly/aiLt7y) asking $2,477. Does anyone have an idea of the current value? I would greatly appreciate any assistance that might be offered!
I have the same set and I would also be interested in any insight. My set serial number is lower then 75. I scanned the ingots and made a video on http://www.youtube.com/IBlewUpTheSilver#p/a/u/2/xBd7-Pp1XzQ Thanks
wow ,i read and enjoyed the fine minted scenes of american independence from brittish rulers in chronological order. Thanks NAK for your display. Please let me know how much you paid for it & the current value.
From collector standpoint in value, whatever the market will bear. Otherwise these pieces are worth no more than their melt (bullion) value.
Can anyone give specific advice as to how to receive the highest value? Am I best off putting it on EBay or a different online resource, should I take it to a coin dealership (can anyone recommend a fair one?), or is there a better way to maximize value? Thank you in advance for your thoughts. edited
