Hello - This caught my interest. Not sure about the availability in the U.S. - Have any members had dealings with the Dublin Mint Office?
    Thanks: Screenshot_2020-08-24-16-56-41-1.png

It appears to be one of those companies that gives you something inexpensive for free and then sends items on approval (for high prices; and you need to return it all or face having to pay).

There are many complaints and the company has a poor reputation.
It is also not affiliated with any official mint.

Ireland doesn't have a mint, so it is like Govmint.com.

Ireland does have a mint which mints Irish coins and prints banknotes, but you're right that it's not related to the Dublin Mint Office. Actually, I'm not sure if they still print banknotes, as there was talk of outsourcing that a couple of years back.

The Dublin Mint Office is part of a group of companies with similar names - London Mint Office and more - which does actually own a mint - the Mint Of Norway.

For what it's worth, the DMO's marketing practices have been the subject of some discussion on Irish radio in the past few months and some people seem to have spent a lot of money on medals of little intrinsic worth in the mistaken belief that they were a good investment.

It is linked to the London mint office, these companies sell tat at greatly inflated prices and lure you in with free or inexpensive coins then send you overpriced coins every month. Nothing at all to do with mints just purveyors of tat.

What is the address of the mint. I know the 2010-12 15 Euro Silver coins they did with the Salmon, Horse and Wolfhound and young were struck at the Netherlands Mint, and earlier coinage was done in London.
Is it a "Mint" in name only?

    It's not difficult to find.

    Currency Centre,
    Sandyford Road,
    Sandyford,
    Dublin 18.

There's a link to a nice Google overhead image here:

As far as I know, all the proof minting has been outsourced, but other coins are minted there and have been since the mid-1970s. Before that, they were minted at the Royal Mint. I'm not sure whether banknotes are still minted there or not - they were until a couple of years ago, but there were proposals to drop that activity.

    ATB,
    Aidan.
