I think they get them directly.. I see armored trucks making pick ups and deliveries there all the time, it's across the road from me. It's the biggest food store franchise in my area.
Sequentially numbered bills like yours should be easy to get from a bank if asked. My mother in-law used to give such notes at x-mas time. Sometimes 5 -6 in a row. I don't think it adds any value to such modern notes to have them in sequence. The only benefit is it lets potential buyers know the notes are most likely uncirculated like these 60 year old notes.
every friday like clock work i can get sequential bills at my local Mcdonald’s as there brinks truck comes on thursday, no special numbers to report as of yet however.
Nice!!!... I just consider myself lucky when I get them when not looking for them.. I don't even collect currency much.. just a neat thing to me.
With all due respect, I'm curious what you believe fair market value is for your notes? I have two sets of five consecutive serial numbered $2 bills (pictured below). They are from the 1978 series, and all are in uncirculated condition. Out of curiosity, what would you place as a fair market value for these $2 notes? IMHO I believe they are worth face value, $2 each.
Like I said, I just consider myself lucky when I got them, I don't collect currency nor follow the market but, it appears you do so the fact you are asking me that is obvious you are trying to bait me into some entertainment for your own personal reasons, which doesn't make you a very sincere person to me. Feel free to ignore me.
And that's exactly how I obtained my sequential $2 notes. We were in a bar. I received $10 in change and it was five of those notes. I asked the barmaid if she had any more and she retrieved the second set of five. Apparently the four missing serial numbers in between my two sets were already given to another patron. Nothing above face value IMO, but cool. So I saved them. In the same vein as yours. Hence my personal opinion that yours would similarly be worth face value.
Not trying to bait you at all. If you follow the above conversation I stated your notes were worth face value. You're the one who followed up with the comment, 'To you.' That seemed quite clear to imply you feel your notes are worth more than face value. To which I explained why I placed your notes at the same value as my own similar notes. And for the record, I do not collect currency. However, like you, I do save some interesting notes. I've never purchased any, ever.
With new notes in modern money having the serial numbers in order is easy to get. Getting them in older notes or obsolete currency is harder to do.
I agree with face value because no fancy numbers!! These are more valuable because they too are in sequence but the first is a radar serial number. I have a $50 wrap of sequential numbers I keep for fun and conversation.
Well, I did one he.. of a lot of Push-Ups in order to prove I understood the Teaching, for the rest of my Life. So.....
