Is there a place where I can search by KM number? I bought a lot of coins that all have numbers but no other labeling and I don't know what country some are.

    You need the country, too.

KM coin numbers refer to the numbering system used by the Standard Catalog of World Coins, originally written by Krause and Mishler (hense the KM).

I found it here, or you could buy the book. I collect Ireland coinage and these are KM numbered as well.

Thanks, I'll try those two sources. I can identify 99% of countries but some Indian states for example I'm just not good with.

Here is a very limited photo ID page I have found helpful for IPS coins.

So most of the coins I can't ID have numbers that don't follow the KM format. They're either like Y11.1 or K43A. I tried searching those databases and couldn't find them.

Numista is my "go to" also.

I also use coinscope for unknown coins. Simpy take a photo with your smart phone (if you have one).

Y is the old Yeomen #'s. Some should work in Numista.
