    Good Evening,

This is my first time to post here and I am not an avid coin collector. That doesn't mean
I plan on being a sucker however.

A friend posted about this coin last summer, as a favor to me. I noticed earlier tonight that a few comments were made re: his inquiry about the coin last summer.

I can tell you I know the coin was minted between 2000 and 2003 b/c it was one of 50 on an anniversary tree made for my Mother and Father's 50th in Aug. 2003. The laminate is intact, there is no date or mint mark. And obviously being from the earlier years it doesn't have a mint mark along the edge. I don't have a pic taken yet but will try to upload one in the next day or two.

Has anyone run across a Sacagawea Dollar with this error?

    Thank you very much,

    mjrblessed

It sounds like a grease filled die.

Without photos, we would only be speculating about the reason. It's true that grease-filled dies are often responsible for coins like this and they don't carry much, if any, of a premium. We would still need to see photos.

I have one of these and like you I am no coin collector. And like you I am no sucker either. I can't seem to find out much about this coin, but in the past, I have heard that any coin like this is worth money. That is why I won't part with mine.

The Date and Mint Mark were moved to the edge of the Sacagawea Dollar with the release of the Native American coin Series in 2009 which retained the Sacagawea Bust on the Obverse. I do not have an image of a 2009 coin but offer this image of the 2010 version from the US Mint.

Pictures, even rudimentary pictures would answer a lot of questions.

I have recently come across a sacagawea dollat icon with no date or mint. It also does not have the eagle on the reverse. I can see it's been quite awhile since your post and i'm not really sure if I have one of the coins your looking for but if your still interested you can email me at edited thanks.

The date and mintmark would be on the edge. What is on the reverse?

I have the same coin. Unable to find any info. My 81 year old mother gave me the coin. I am not an avid coin collector. Please provide data on the coin. Thank you.
