President Carter is still alive, and you cannot honor living people on coins in the United States.

He's correct. You can't find these coins in circulation, and they end with Ronald Reagan.

They haven't minted Carter dollars. The presidential dollar program is completed/over/deceased. At least until congress passes a law to restart it once they start dying again (i.e. George H W Bush, etc.).

The Congress last I heard was considering an extension to the presidential and first spouse programs to honor Barbara and George H.W. Bush. This is not without precedent as when Nancy Reagan died in 2016 the first spouse program was extended.

I'm slightly confused. There's a coin board/slot for a coin that was never minted?

You can get a "Colorized "Modern Presidents" Dollar Set" from Littleton's if you've just got to have these. They are aftermarket productions.

Easily the worst design issued in my opinion would be the Franklin D. Roosevelt dollar while the Kennedy and Reagan ones represent the likeness of both presidents exceptionally well.

The law prohibits any living president from being on a coin. You will need to be patient and wait like the rest of us for Carter to die so we can all have one for our collections.

I can be patient. I'd much rather have more Habitat for Humanity houses.

That one dollar Reagan coin makes Susan B. Anthony look like a pageant queen. There could have been a much more Presidential portrait of Reagan than that abomination. In some countries they lop your hand off for stealing. I think bad sculpting should be added to the list.

Lmao! I sense some sarcasm in this post... No, best wishes to Jimmy. I hope he has many years ahead of him.
The dollar coins aren't something I would've ran out and bought but since I received this as a gift, I may as well display it. lol Most of them got pretty beat up falling into the bins. MS-66 is probably an unusually high grade for most of them.

I think I'll pass on the sticker coins. lol! Not that desperate. Oooh, ONLY $50...well! lol

No sarcasm intended, just the reality bug I'm glad you got s good laugh from it. Life is too short not to enjoy it.

I'm not thrilled with the Presidential Dollar coins but I am a collector so I do have my set, all purchased from circulation upon release to the public at face value.

It wasn't extended. Once it was decided to skip over Carter and issue a coin for President Reagan, Nancy's coin was automatically scheduled as well. And they were already striking her coin when she died. (But they hadn't been released yet.)

Doesn't matter, the program has ended. It would take new legislation from Congress to get a Carter Dollar (Or George H W Bush dollar)

So your collection ends in 2011? The 2012 to 2016 coins weren't released into circulation..
