Is there anyone that lives in the Dallas/Fort Worth area that uses a local PCGS dealer to submit their coins for grading? I've been on the PCGS website and contacted a couple of local dealers in the area and they never call back, not even an email response. Thanks in advance.

Why not just join PCGS and submit yourself? I don't know...is there a benefit to submitting through a Dealer? ...lower cost? ...better grade?

Dealers can save you money by screening your coins for problems before you waste money submitting problem coins. They can also save you handling fees and shipping costs by piggy-backing your submitted coins on their submissions.

Contrary to popular belief, you aren't likely to get any better grades submitting through dealers.

I'll certainly agree about the screening. But cost wise, it depends. I've never done it myself, but everybody I ever talked to who did it, they not only paid the grading fees, they also had to pay the dealer an additional fee (which varied from $5-$15) for each coin he sent in for them.

Now if you could find a guy who didn't do that ...........

But TX - why not post pics of your coins here to find out if you should even send them in at all ?

I have a 2015 American Liberty gold coin that I'd like to send off to be graded and a gold Mexican Libertad that I want re-holdered.

Then I'd say your best bet is to go visit the shops in person.

I guess they've got more dealers to meet.

ToughCOINS is an authorized PCGS and an authorized NGC dealer, and receives reduced submission rates from both services (in the form of a lower invoice after submission), presumably as compensation for being the middleman. We do not charge the customer anything extra per coin, and I'm surprised to hear that some other dealers do that.

If you find somewhere let me know. I spoke with Lone Star Mint in Plano. They will submit them but typically wait until they get 5 or more submissions. I don't want to wait forever.

Well that's where that last sentence of mine comes into play Mike. Like I've always said, there are good guys out there, you just have to find them ;)

There will be a coin show 8/28 - 8/30 at the Forest Hill Civic and Convention Center (just off I-20). There will be several PCGS dealers there along with lots of advice.
