i become a menber of ngc so i can get some of my proofs graded, the paper work said they want the coins put in a flip but if i would put a proof in a flip it would put marks on the coin. then they want the value of the coin for the price that they would charge for the grading. i didnt think it would be this hard to get a coin graded. has anyone here sent coins to ngc to be graded. if so i could use some help please thank you.

Get the larger size safe flips. if you use soft flips they will send them back. The larger flips are easier to insert the coins into safely.
Price the coins in $25 increments, just use the red book. It does not need to be exact.
Don't try and be clever and take a $1000 coin and say its worth $200 just to get cheaper grading, they don't like that ;)
If the proofs are modern issue you can send them in their original government packaging, NGC will remove them for you at no charge, you will not get the packaging back though.

heres a coin thats got me on the price for grading, its a 1886-o ms-67 graded by angs. my red book has it listed at MS-65 for 225.000 now i know the coin would not grad that by NGC but i would like to have them down grad it into one of there holders.

Not sure if any of your proofs you are going to submit are silver eagles. If so you don't have to take those out of the airtites. NGC will do that at no charge. On the Morgan dollar can't say i've heard of that grading service and your right it won't go M67. Post a picture if you like. Hate for you to send the coin in and it's gets bodybagged (no grade) for cleaning or something like that.

you can send it in for "crossover" and put a minimum grade. like, ms-60. They tape over/conceal the other TPG grade and send it through the grading process, if the end grade is the same or higher than the minimum grade you specified they will break it out and encapsulate it in one of their holders. if the coin is a body bag or under the minimum grade they WILL NOT break it out, you will get your coin back in its original slab.

If you don't care what grade it gets you can put "any" in for the minimum grade. They still will not beak it out if is a body bag, but if its au-58 or something they will.

    hope that helps.
