I am really looking forward to seeing CAC at the shows, in a similar situation to PCGS where they can grade coins on site
At this time we do not have plans for on-site show grading but our ops team is extremely efficient at processing in-house submissions once they reach our facility. If anyone wants to become a CAC Member to gain submission privileges for both Stickering and Grading click the link below then click on the scrolling banner section in the photo to add yourself to our fast-moving Membership Wait List... https://www.cacgrading.com/
Nice. I’m a long time member. But haven’t sent anything in at least 6-7 years. I had a lot of life changes. Would be interested in more info on the grading though
Really nice. And cheaper than pcgs or ngc. Question if I send a pcgs/cac coin for grading/reholder would it likely come back the same as
Gettin' in on da gravy train, ain't we? Competition is good, demand for grading is good, and folks buying into this melee is nuts. Dem prices ain't cheep and it's got collectors thinking that in order for them to have a collection worthy indeed, they need to get all of their coins entombed in plastic. I see the question asked quite often (especially by younger collectors).....'Should I get my coin graded'? They've got the notion that what they have ain't worth nothing unless it's packaged in that magical encasement of plastic. Don't get me wrong, certain coins do require slabbing, if only to ensure their legitimacy and condition per value but the hobby seems to be leaning toward (and egged on) by the TPG's peddling their services. Rant over. Carry on.........
PCGS/NGC CAC stickered coins are guaranteed to, at a minimum, cross at the same numerical grade on the holder.
Looking at some CACG coins on eBay one big gun dealer had their ones about 1.6 x Mkt retail for CAC as per CDN (ones I checked). Better dates maybe that’s why dunno CAC Mkt that well. I did find a couple abt 95 pct CDN CAC retail (somebody else). Either way looks like one needs pay up for them but shop around. Wonder if cheaper in about 6 month? I have bought 2 off eBay 1off GC, addictive lol.
An interview with JA and Maurice Rosen from 2008 when CAC was just starting up is VERY informative and illuminating, especially when you see where we are today with CAC, CACG, and the interview above. Someone posted the entire interview over at the NGC Forums. For some reason, I can't find it via Google.
