As some of you may have read on my other thread, I got a 2014 Great Smokey Mountain quarter yesterday in my change. Then today I got a Fort McHenry quarter.

This inspired me to buy a Littleton coin folder devoted to National Park Quarters. This particular folder is for 2010-2015 quarters (Volume One). I was never one to put coins in a folder, but I'm going to do it for this set. I figure it will be fun and harmless.

I will update with photos every now and then as the folder fills up. So far I only have a total of 4...

Looking forward to seeing your progress. My son and I are each attempting to fill a folder from pocket change. We’ve been looking for about a year now and I’ve only found 8 D’s and 3 P’s, mostly the higher mintage ones. My son won’t tell me how many he’s found, but he has his mother, grandmother and several others helping him. At least it’s a challenge finding these and not a folder you can fill in a week.

I also intend to fill the folder only from pocket change. I'm looking forward to the challenge. I think it's great that you are doing it alongside your son. It's not only a clean and simple way to have fun, but's it's also educational and inexpensive. Good luck!

As much as I dislike Littleton, I do like their folders. I just brought one home for a set of lower grade IHCs.

My boys and I managed to get the state quarters almost full from pocket change. We cheated at the end and purchased the last few quarters that we needed to complete the book. We're working on the national park version now and have about a dozen coins so far. It's fun, and it's something that helps spark interest in coin collecting.

Pocket change albums are what I do for the most part. Completed the State Quarters, partially completed the Territories and now working on the Nat. Parks. Good luck.

Dansco's Album is pretty cool as well (partial set of pics - album goes through 2021, the entire series)...

Thanks! It adds a little bit of excitement to an otherwise uneventful exercise that is getting change back from a cashier. The folder is pretty nice considering it only costs about 4 bucks.

That's what it's all about. Well said. Please let us know how it goes on the National Parks. We can all post here to share our progress.

Very nice bdunnse. The Dansco folders are very nice. Once I'm further along I may purchase one and transfer the coins. Good luck to you too.

Not sure what’s going on at the several stores I shop at. I live in an area of around 300,000 people, so there’s a decent amount of change out there. Most of the quarters I found were from a small mom & pop in a town with a population of 700 people – maybe the clerks in the larger stores are saving the AtB’s themselves.

I have the following 'D' national park quarters that I'm willing to swap for 'P' editions. I think at some point there was a thread for this for the state quarters, has someone started one for the national park version?

    Acadia 1
    Chaco Canyon 2
    Chickasaw 1
Denali 3 (includes some nice bright coins)
    Fort McHenry 5
    Great Basin 4
    Hawaii Volcano 1
Hot Springs 1 (but is has some sort of grunge / booger on it)
    Olympic 2
    White Mountain 2
    Yellowstone 1

These are all pulled from circulation, and therefore are of various degrees on condition. If you're looking for "pocket change" to fill out a spot in your book, then I'm interested in swapping. I would like reasonably nice coins, meaning no "boogered" coins like my Hot Springs mentioned above.

How did the swap topic work for the state quarters? I looked, but there are two many hits for those search terms, and I could not find it.

I live in the Dallas / Fort Worth area. The only "P" quarters in our book are El Yunque and Denali. I'm open to swap for anything else!

I live on the west coast, so the few I’ve found are D’s with an occasional P. I just checked the trade section and saw at least 1 ad for AtB trades and there are probably more (click on Coin Forums. go to bottom of page, click on Trades and search Quarters). If you’re going to trade, I’d advise setting up a P.O. Box, don’t really want to give out your address on the Web, as a coin collector, many honest people here, but thieves are everywhere. Trades don’t work for me, since the contest I have going with my son requires we find them in circulation, but if I ever start finding any quantities, I’ll check the trade section to supply them.

I had a PO box for a while for a different reason; I didn't think about keeping it for this! Oh well. I will check out the Trade section of the board, for some reason I didn't even think of looking there.
