That there is some fine coinage. Maybe when the government declares bankruptcy they will auction these coins off to collectors..

Can't wait for the new display. I went this past spring and took pics of pretty much the entire display which was in a space that was maybe 150 square feet.

National Treasure. It will never be auctioned off.........or if so, I'll fail to be a citizen here......

Of course you folks are aware that between 1950 and 1979 that the Modern Coins sent to be included in the National Numismatic Collection were "Special Strikes" referred to by the curator as "First Strikes"? Each of the coins bore remarkable similarities to the supposed 1964 SMS Issues and most are of very high quality.
The discovery of these pieces and their heritage was uncovered in 2013 and reported in a August 5th 2013 Issue of Coin World.

The coins were sent to NGC for grading and were included in the Smithsonian Display at the Chicago ANA in August 2013.

Personally, I'd like to see these exhibited more often at ANA Shows since the coins themselves should be photographed and documented for comparative resources.

Thanks for the pics, H8. Immune Columbia is my favorite of the bunch.
