My Research Into This 1909 VDB Cent Die Pair

Discussion in 'US Coins Forum' started by SilverStackerKid, Nov 27, 2018.

  1. Hey y'all, a lot of you were confused by my last post, which undoubtedly had misleading information. The PDF is an updated and more clearly organized gathering of my research. I showed my research and the coins I have to Mark Feld, who now works with Heritage but has worked as a third party grader, and we both concluded I should show all this to Kevin Flynn, then submit to PCGS if Kevin agrees with my research. In the beginning of the PDF I refer to minting numbers and forget to mention they are for the VDB version, but that is the only mistake in the document that I know of, please feel free to comment on and criticize my work as it helps a lot!

How do you explain the dot between the D and B being in different locations with your proof example and business strike example?

I'm not going to open the file.

  5. Idhair, don’t worry, you don’t have to open the file, you probably can’t help with this anyways. It probably is hard to open as it is a PDF.

Robec, I can only explain that from the different lighting in the pictures, but the dots are in the same place on the coins.

Mark is an old friend. I think he is still a member here. If he told you to send it to Kevin Flynn, I would do it. Good luck.
