I have four $20 bills that are misprinted. They are from 1993 and are in "perfect" condition. I got them from the bank, saw that they were misprinted, put them in an envelope (to check them out for any "extra" value), and forgot about them for 13 years.

Their serial numbers are almost sequential (sorry, I recall giving one to a friend at the time!!) F42445745C, F42445746C, F42445747C, and F42445749C.

The misprint is on the front of each bill. On the upper right hand corner of the front of the bill is an overprint of the picture from the upper right hand corner of the back of the bill. On two of the bills, the misprint is only on a small part of the upper right hand corner. On the other two, the misprint covers an entire half of the front of the bill.

Do these bills have any value beyond $20 each, or should I just spend them? : )

    Thank you for any insights.

Scotto I collect what I like

It sounds like a "Printed "fold" and YES they are worth, depending on the amount of fold and condition of the bill, a fair amount of money. Can you post a picture?

Can't be a printed fold, as they are sequential. Sequential notes come from different sheets.

    Probably an offset.

I can't figure out how to get the picture small enough

I've scanned it, but it is about 3 MB. I'm not techie enough to figure out how to get it small enough to attach to this forum (with its limit of 100 KB for attachments).

    Any suggestions? Sorry.

DO NOT SPEND THEM !!YES they are worth keeping , and depending on how bold of an front to back transfer they have the three seq. could be worth a very good premium sold as a set !!!

DO NOT SPEND THEM!!!!! Do 3 things: 1. Keep them 2. Keep them 3. Or, sell them.

It's a nice group of offsets. A sheet of notes that was printed prior to them was torn or folded, and this caused a transfer of ink to the press machinery. Notes that followed picked up this ink, in a mirror image and on the opposite side.

I'd say the group is worth at least $200. Perhaps more.

    Shelby, welcome to CT.

First, this thread is 14 years old.
Second, you'll get a whole lot more input from the members in a thread created by you, not coat tailing on someone else's (decades old) thread.
Third, post pictures of the notes in question. Without them we really can't offer much of an opinion.

I also have a 1993 $20 that has the back print higher than the front of the bill. Is it worth anything besides $20?
