Is it just me or is Loomis taking all the silver for themselves? I live in a small town area and had been searching for a while a few years back. Was getting a fair amount back then out of the Loomis boxes. Took a break for a while and recently started searching again and have now gone through like 8 Loomis boxes with no luck at all in dimes. Found a bank that gets Brinks clear rolls though and have been getting like 4 to 12 silvers per box (mostly Canadian silver though). Seems like most people say the opposite. From now on when I'm handed a Loomis box I'm just going to go to a different bank and trade it in.
Hey, in my area (near Portland, OR) there is a place that culls pre-82 pennies and dumps into Loomis, causing there to be almost no pre-82 pennies. So yeah, pennies are only worth hunting if you can get CWR.
I have never got silver halfs from Loomis rolls. Everything I got was from CWR or lose from the teller. I have gotten a few war nickels. I have not tried dimes yet. I have not had the same problem with pre 82 pennies. The bank of America by me gets all Loomis MD Coin Hunter
I didn't even know Loomis did half rolls. Only halfs I've ever seen were CWR and only one bank has ever had any. I feel like I have even better luck with Brinks than CWR though.
With money being the rule of thumb - do you actually think Loomis, OR ANYBODY, will roll silver then deliver? Just reminds me of the Ebay "Unsearched Rolls." How many people have come to the realization that there are NO "really" unsearched rolls out there anymore being sold as the real deal!!??
I cannot speak for quarters or halves as I have not done a box of either in quite awhile. But, I can say my cent searching in my last three boxes has shown a marked change in being primarily Shield cents, with a lot less Memorials, and the Memorial cents have been in atrocious condition. It does seem the Memorials are slowly being weeded out.
