I see that the dollar bill with the dallas k mark seems to be a fairly common dollar bill but there are some with the number 109 for kennedy's pt boat on the lower right. Does anyone know whether this is a collectible thank you
The number has nothing to do with Kennedy's PT boat, it's jus the plate number. The K also has nothing to do with Kennedy. The 11 has nothing to do with the month he was assassinated, etc...
Everything that you wrote is probably just coincidence but I feel the need to point out that the present $1 FRN bearing 12 letters of the alphabet including K was first introduced in 1963. Also, the K FRB letter is designated for Dallas, Texas which is where President Kennedy was assassinated.
i agree with dursin, that the K district and the plate number have little to do with keneddy ... but that in no way means there is not a connection to you if you want to collect them because the 109/k note means somethign to you ... by all menas... grab what you can we all grab what we like, and there is no wrong answer to what you want to collect happy hunting
Can you explain this 1918 $1 bill: or this 1914 $20 bill: The K and the 11 were assigned to Dallas long before 1963. No connection.
I can see that I should have posted a question on the establishment of the 12 Frederal Reserve Branches..that would have cleared this up!! RickieB
