I have a rare coin1964 Kennedy Half Dollar Silver Coin JFK President Double head for two sides .. what value has
Very doubtful that it's a legitimate coin. Most likely it's a magician's coin that has been altered to have two head sides. If you post some photos we may be able to confirm this for you.
Knowing somewhat how the minting works, I'm pretty sure that a 2-headed JFK half is impossible. 99 times out of 100 it's going to be a magician's coin as Rassi said. No, make that 100x out of 100 ;-)
No real need for images - if the coin is "genuine," it'll be the first ever known in 224 years of US coin issues, which is to say the possibility is nil.
as I was corrected in another thread. Genuine two-headed and two tailed US coins DO exist. (they have been certified by PCGS) http://minterrornews.com/discoveries-2-13-17-pcgs-certifies-unique-two-headed-nickel.html I still cannot understand how that coin grades MS-65, but that's a different discussion. The odds of you having one are not zero, but they are right next to zero. Weigh the coin, post pictures and post the weight. If it's real, you'll get plenty of help.
Interesting. I'll cheerfully be the one you pass that correction on to. To the best of my knowledge, modern hammer and anvil dies don't fit into each others' places. You can't put two obverse dies into a Mint press. I wonder how whomever did it (not a chance it was an official Mint act) accomplished the deed.
It's interesting to see that each side bears very similar scratches and die marks. It looks to me like the SAME die was used for each side. I agree that it is an employee made "error".
