Trying to find out if this coin is authentic or not.

It’s an 1854 Gold Liberty Head $20 coin withe “San Francisco California Twenty D” on the back.

My father passed away recently and we found it in his safe. It’s in pretty decent shape with minor wear on it. It’s a little dirty, but I knew better than to clean it, in case it is authentic.

Any help on this coin would be greatly appreciated. I don’t know much about how to spot a real versus fake one. Before I pay the money to have it looked at, I wanted to see what everyone here thinks? If it’s worth doing?
How much, if authentic, it is worth, etc. I know from what little I have read on these is that there were a lot of fake coins made, but I also don’t know why he would have had this in his safe, which he had not opened in over 30 years.

    Thank you ahead of time!

Sorry, posting via my mobile phone. I uploaded 4 pics front, back and 2 pics to show the edges. What else should I do to make the pics better?

    Thanks

If your father didn't have internet or social media to search it, and if it was gold plated, didn't have the modern tests for it, so it is perfectly understandable. The owner of the local bullion shop has several mexican 2peso coins come into the shop weekly, only to weigh them ,and show they are plated ( to be used as wedding blessing coins in rural Mexico).
