Sorry but there is no such coin. BUT, coin companies like Littleton and Mystic Stamp Company still sell these and have for many years, gold plated...a novelty item. They also gold plate Lincoln Cents. T.V. hawkers also sell gold and platinum plated coins. Once this is done though, it takes away any other collectible value except for face value, unless you like novelty items. You may also find one ounce silver and gold plated copper rounds.

A solid gold cent would weigh more than that.

49-50 grains is about 3.2 grams. An unplated Indian cent weighs 3.1 grams.

I've seen an article about an Indian cent that was mistakenly struck on a gold quarter-eagle ($2 1/2) planchet. That's a five-figure coin, but it would weigh 4.18 grams.

The reason i said seems to ne solid is because it has a couple dings in the side and it still looks gold underneath but it may have been plated with the dings already there....sad that someone would plate such a old coin

On the other hand, it's good that they plated an already-damaged coin, rather than ruining a good one, I suppose.

It may have been a new coin when it was plated.

Just to be very clear, I posted this not to give the OP unrealistic hope where there is none, or to dispute your otherwise excellent post, but do so only for the sake of fairness.

Absolutely and thank you for posting this link. I learned again, something I did not know.
