Looks fake to me, The details are way to faint in uneven places.

alot of the details dont show because of the camera i used ! specially in the back side of the coin .
also the pictures are not taken at 90 degrees of angle thats y it might not seem to be centered
    !
and if u think it is a fake could u give the reasons ..

It certainly appears to be fake.

What is the weight of the coin?
Does it stick to a magnet? (If it does it is fake.)
What is the edge design? (If it is a reeded edge it is fake.)

This coin is very much a fake. More specifically, I can tell it is a Chinese replica just from the pictures. The edge should read ''HUNDRED CENTS ONE DOLLAR OR UNIT'' but yours does not have any writing on the edge, this is another indicator that the coin is fake.

Read more here: http://www.silver-coins.org/1796_draped_bust_dollar.html Also, try dropping your coin on a table and listen to the sound it makes. If it is silver it will make a nice and distinct ringing noise but if it is made from pewter, steel or nickel etc. it will make more of a thudding noise.

Bummer... I sure hope you didn't pay full retail value for it.

Just look at the edge and denticles.. these alone should say enough.

You're welcome. I saw a number of them at the ANA National Money show this past week. They are easy to spot once you know what to look for.

Just so you know, if the coin did not stick to a magnet and if it had the proper lettered edge that does not necessarily mean the coin is genuine. There are cheap fakes (like yours) and there are good fakes that are harder to identify.

That is one crude fake! The current crop is much better, and all newer ones have the proper edge lettering. Here's another similar thread from awhile back, but the links are still good:
