    Hello to the coin world
I was wondering if my coin is fake? it is a 50 mexican peso coin (1821-1947)
somehow it is looking rather like copper thus am wondering as it says it is 37,5 grams of pure gold on the face
i took it to the coin dealer but he was rather useless, so can someone please confirm if this is a gold coin or a copper one that was plated in gold? IMG-20120626-00049.jpg

It is impossible to tell from the photos supplied.
Weigh the coin and see if it is the correct weight.

(is this Redwin? LOL J/K - inside joke)

Can you weigh the coin and give it's size? And how did you come to own it?

The only way to verify it is to have it weight and tested. Any jewelry store or coin shop should be able to do that for you.

To see what you're seeing, you really need better pics and some close ups. And it is very important to have the weight to be able to say (over the internet) if it's a fake or not. The copper-colored inclusions might be normal but unless we see what you're talking about everything is going to be a guess.

Haha obviously not, I'm just checking to see if something like brasso would make the entire coin look like its copper?

I think I remember reading that these coincan be of varying color due to the way they are alloyed. I think I saw that info o the APMEX. site.
