I bought these from ebay. They were cheap so I said what the heck and bought them. The 1955-D is marked MS70 but isn't in anywhere near that condition. It's uncirculated but probably a MS63 or so. The V nickel is probably close to a G4 but isn't shown as graded on the slab. The slabs are cheap and the nickels rotated in the slab as shown. The label looks to be printed on computer paper. I assume "International Numismatic Bureau" is just an ebay seller's "grading company". These are cheaply slabbed but well worth what I paid for them just as conversation pieces.
Yes, it's just an Ebay seller. A horrible one at that. They've since changed their Ebay ID, but INB used to churn out their own slabs back before Ebay put an end to listing grades unless graded by one of the major TPGs.
If you want to get a good look at the coin, just open the slab with a finger nail and pop it out. You can then put the coin in a 2x2 and throw the slab in the garbage where it belongs.
2 things: Buy the coin, not the holder, AND if it looks too good to be true, it probably is just that.
These guys are now on EBay and currently claiming that they recently came across the "Greatest Gemstone Estate Sale" ever seen. This was copied from their EBay listing's title, saying exactly. . . . "ESTATE LOT-GEM COLLECTION-SALE-RARE-VALUABLE DIAMONDS,RUBIES,EMERALD-TREASURES DIAMOND-EMERALD-RUBY- CERTIFIED SLABS- INVEST TODAY". Now down in the actual listing itself, under the listing's item description, it said exactly this.... "WE JUST MADE AN AMAZING ESTATE PURCHASE IN VERMONT!!- WE BOUGHT OUT A JEWELRY STORES SLABBED LOTS OF DIAMONDS, EMERALDS AND RUBIES AT A ROCK BOTTOM PRICE. Honestly, the (ABOVE) description of what they are actually selling in this listing is Very Confusing. They DO NOT describe the actual gemstones (Rubies, Diamonds and Emeralds) at all, other than about how incredible and immaculate they are. There is nothing in their EBay listing about the gemstones sizes, clarity, carat weights or even their shape or cut. Also, in the Above Item's Description they used the word (LOT) 3 to 4 times and in the above item's description, they go on to say . . . "No one even comes close to providing you with the value you get with our gem lots." HOWEVER, not even one time tell you anything about the "Gemstone Lots" at all. Nothing on what their gemstone lot's consist of, like what type gemstones? If the gemstones in these lots are natural genuine gems or Lab-Created or even Man-made? What's the carat weight of each lot? I mean NO INFORMATION on these lots! Actually, I'm still not even 100% sure, exactly what they are selling in this listing. I sent three different messages to them, on three different dates & occasions, using EBay's "Contact The Seller" link and got NO REPLY or RESPONSE from them at all! These messages only consisted of two or three questions, like... (1) Are these gemstone lots that you are selling in this auction? (2) If yes, how many or what's the carat weight of the gemstone lots you are selling? (3) What type of gemstones are in the different lots? Maybe a few other questions too, but that's about it. NO RESPONSE AT ALL From Them! For what it's worth,,, I've been collecting, buying, selling and studying natural colored gemstones for about 30+ years now. With that said, , , the above mentioned EBay listing screeeeams "CROOKS!!! BUYER BEWARE!!! ONLINE AUCTION SCAM! RUUUUN! RUUUN! RUUUUN! I just wanted to share this, since I saw all the other Negative Postings Or better even, all of the "Whistle Blowers" postings, sharing their bad experiences with these people/organization called "INTERNATIONAL NUMISMATIC BUREAU"! Thanks and GOOD LUCK! EVAN C.
Why ruin a good thing you got one going? Most of the ancient coins are misattributed. Their shipwreck coins can't be proven to come from a specific wreck. Their cut pirate coins are modern cuts. Why should you expect their emeralds to actually be a green stone?????
I think here is your answer about "Lots" So a "lot" is one stone. I'm curious what their grading standards are.
Ah yes, I forgot all about INB; their coins used to be ALL OVER eBay. I purchased a few INB slabbed coins years ago because I sorted by "Ending Soonest" and they were cheaper than comparable raw counterparts. Years later I ended up just cracking them out of the plastic and giving them away as gifts with other coins I had sold. After reading their latest gemstone scam, I think all of humanity should band together to never deal with them. Not because they're basement slabbers with a storied history of deception, but rather, because they use commas as if to make an ellipsis.
Welcome to CT. This would be a good time to make your first post in your own thread. At the top go to Forums, select Coin Chat, select Post New Thread and post a picture, cropped and full size.
INB is a complete scam In my opinion. However as much as I hate to admit it, I buy some of their products, never anything graded or valuable, I buy there cheap ancient coins in bulk ( pop them out of slabs because they are all mislabeled) They are common low grade bronze constantine eras but still cool. I aslo buy the Campo Del Cielo Meteors they have. I resell them in my shop, MAKE NO MISTAKE THOUGH, INB IS NOT TO BE TRUSTED! they are working under the name "Estate bureau" on ebay. Please if you buy coins from them, expect the worst
Oh yeah I have a few of those. I had bid on some of their wheat rolls and added a few "mystery slabbed coins" to them. All were terrible condition war nickels and rusty steels except for a couple nice '80s proofs. One of them was underneath the foam so the holders don't even work that well.
