Hey everyone. I typically don't post about my podcast, but this last interview was too good to keep to myself. Here are Matt and myself interviewing US Mint Director Ventris Gibson on Tuesday this week. Here's a link if you want to watch:
Thanks for posting Mike. I remember listening to the first interview a while back. Pretty cool she was willing to come on the show again. Was really hoping someone would ask where the rest of the flowing hair silver medals and gold coins were (or what the plan is for the rest of them) since literally 33 and 43% of them have not been sold in their original product offerings according to US mint sales report. The 1804 dollar will be big.
As a curmudgeon I thought I would shut it off after a couple minutes of the usual politician lotta words saying nothing, but I ended up listening to the whole thing. Like, wow, she actually knows what she's doing! I was impressed. Of course, and I hope this isn't deemed "political" or something, as a woman she has to be ten times better at it than a man or she wouldn't survive. That part came to mind when they were discussing the short duration of the women on quarters program, which they sort of danced around. And the Oneida thing with Valley Forge! I had absolutely no idea that happened despite having at least one direct ancestor who was there. So cool that they will commemorate it on a coin.
