I am looking at my clad & silver proof Kennedys in my dansco album, and for the life of me, I can't tell the difference. Is there a sure way to tell them apart? They must have different weight's...But I don't want to take them out of the book & weigh them.
I was wondering the same thing.....other than weight...the only other way I know how to do it is if they are already in a proof set or something.
Hi Ed, My Kennedy album is nearly complete so I have a lot of coins to compare. When I look at the Clad S proof side by side with the Silver S Proof I notice the silver figure is much whiter in color than the clad figure. jeankay
I never thought that might be what he meant - the later dates. But the others are correct. Just open your album, lay a plain tissue over top the coins and look at them. The silver ones will look whiter.
excellent advice, Doug! and a dead sure giveaway too! When you see the difference for yourself, it is a cinch to tell the difference!
Hmmm. All my silver halves are laminated (see other thread). Once I unpeel the outer layer, I hit milk chocolate. I'm gonna have to talk to my dealer............
