I have a couple of coins/rounds from the Honolulu Mint I am having a hard time finding info about. I'm hoping someone here can help me out. I have attached a couple of pics of one of the 2 I have. Honolulu Mint KihiKihi Coin Back.jpg Honolulu Mint KihiKihi Coin Front.jpg Honolulu Mint KihiKihi Coin Inside.jpg

I have had this since 2001 when my wife and I made a trip to Hawaii. The other coin/round I have is a commemorative from Pearl Harbor from 2004 when we made another trip.

The Honolulu Mint has since seems to have disappeared. The Hawaiiana Numismatist has a bit of info on the mint and even a few pics of this coin and others in this series but even he has had little luck getting any info about the Honolulu Mint. One thing I have found is some of the sites that have info about this collection say it is a 1oz coin. I don't think it is. It is almost exactly the same size as another 1/2oz round I have in my collection so i am leaning towards that as it's real weight.

I am just trying to build more info on a couple of items in my collection and what their value may be. I have no intention on selling either, mainly because I think they are very cool and great additions to my collection, I am just trying to learn more about them.

The original Honolulu Mint went out of business in 1995, I believe from the web site I posted above.
