Christmas is coming and I thought it would be great to give the grand kids, nieces, nephews uncut sheets in a frame to hang in their bedroom. Researching this I find the cost is prohibitive when I have ten kids to take care of. Even an uncut sheet of 16 one dollar bills is $32.00 and adding in the hanging acrylic frame from the BEP I'm looking at another $33.00. To cut costs I researched hanging acrylic frames and see some $5.00 or a little more. Unfortunately the BEP doesn't show a picture of the frame they charge $33.00 for nor can I find anyone on the internet advertising hanging frames for currency. Does anyone know who sells hanging acrylic frames at a cheaper price?
the BEP likes to make money by selling their wares. I am certain similar items can be purchased for less at other places. I agree with RickieB... Michaels would be a great place to start
Michaels usually has something in that line, except they are actually rather high in pricing compared to Jerrysartarama.com Here are some simple frames. I am not sure of the size of the uncut sheets, but hopefully there is a size here. You do need to buy 6 or more assorted sizes, but that shouldn't be a problem. Check the price. http://www.jerrysartarama.com/disco...l-Frames/Ambiance-Gallery-Aluminum-Frames.htm Jim
If you will not find right frames by Christmas time you can buy other gifts and use uncut sheets as wrapping paper.
Surfer, I can understand your champagne wishes on a beer budget dilema. I would recommend rededicating yourself to making this dream come true. Give them gift cards this year and after the first of the year. Cut out the soda, starbucks coffee, don't eat out as much and over the course of a year, you might just have the $650 required to give the gift of framed full cut sheets next Christmas. While there are plenty of places to get cheap frames, the beauty of the mint frame is that it hangs from the top and is clear in the front and the back. You can flip it over when you want to view BOTH sides of the currency. I own several of these and they are good quality and quite unique, regardless of what the Mint bashers have to say. There really is no substitute for $32.
Thanks for the savings advice. Before I take it, I just might take the subway down to the BEP and see exactly what type of frame they are selling for $32.
If you are good with tools, you can go to Home Depot, get a couple sheets of plexi and bolt them together with the bills inside. Drill two big holes on top add a couple s hooks and some chain and ...bingo, the same thing (almost). Not everyone has the aptitude to be a DYI guy though. Enjoy the trip ..if you get time off during the week, you should also take the tour (weedays only). The tour ends at the gift shop (obviously). Even if you don't use the $650 for the BEP, the extra cash still come in handy ...lol.
