Looks like a strike through. Not worth a lot but it's a nice error. Maybe as much as $10.00 To the right person. I like it so I'm giving you your first like. :)

nice find. i think that that "extra metal" is pretty cool .im looking for a guam for my sisters birth year set. im trying to get it put together before she turns ten. guam has been avoiding me.

Is it hard to take a picture of the entire coin?

A strike through would be indented into the coin, not raised. I'd think this was a die break, or something stuck to the coin.

Not a die break but I could go with something stuck to the coin. From the photo it looks to be the same color.

Surely would need more photos to see what the strike through is. On the other hand, a 2009 state quarter error is quite rare, imo. Haven't seen many. Only a few improperly annealed planchets from American Samoa.

Hey, wasn't sure if my phone was going to let me add more than one at that point so I was just going for one where the error was most notable. Now I probably added too many. Sorry.

That was quite a few more...but honestly, showing both sides of the coin completely is usually very helpful. Thanks :)

To me, it doesn't look like a strike through. It looks like a rim-to-rim die crack.

Also thought large die crack. But just a guess.

I think it is PMD it looks like someone took a razor knife to the coin. Evident by the skip in the so called crack. Could be wrong but it doesn't look right to me.

Good eye. I didn't notice that little skip to the right of the island.

I saw the skip too @Pickin and Grinin - not rim to rim but look at the edge right above Guam. Looks raised to me

What goes over the Island looks cut and it is pushing the extra metal towards the rim.

I see what you mean by raised but when a coin is cut like this the metal has to go somewhere.

Look where that skip is. On the island to the left, it almost looks like a "trench" for lack of a better word. Where the metal was pushed away as it was cut into. I'm going to revise my rim-to-rim die crack answer.

as usual - now I'm looking & thinking....but if it were a cut or scratched - wouldn't it be a cleaner line?
