Found this 1851 dollar... Junk????

    I found this dollar yesterday, but I cant see any of this kind listed on ebay> Should I spend....fake.. what?

    Totally cool, only one I have seen, is it possibly a silver round? Hard to tell by color of pics, AND the indian princess is a prince !!! I'd for sure keep it just as a neat coin !!

    It's a replica, the type of which I have seen multiple examples of, and is worth less than $5 - sorry.

    Mark, you seem like the person to ask about this, do you know what it's composition is? I'm guessing nickel of some sort? Just curious.

    I've seen several of these, the composition varies. I've seen pot metal, I've seen a steel alloy, I've seen a nickel alloy, and the very first ones from over 20 years ago, were actually silver rounds. This is NOT a silver one.
