sorry no pix but it has no shoulder fold on the queens picture, and i read online that it could be worth $250 or close to it
The link I posted will show the "no shoulder fold" variety. One thing to consider is wear. I've been through several thousand without finding a single one. Examine it very closely because if there is even the slightest indication of the strap or fold, it doesn't count. Good luck! http://www.jandm.com/script/getitem.asp?CID=3&PID=81
it took me until i found a wicked bright light to see that it was worn down pretty far,, but still a nice coin, ill keep looking
They're out there. A friend of mine bought a Whitman album full of pennies for a couple of dollars at a flea market and the '55 no shoulder fold was sitting right there.:smile
Just found 1955 no fold penny Looking at the pics on the link (thanks BTW), It looks like my 1955 penny is the real deal. I have been trying to find pics of it for ages. Thanks guys.
One of the identifying features of the "no shoulder fold" is the "I" in "DEI". If the "I" is flared and points between the denticles, you have a NSF; if the "I" is straight sided and points at the denticle, you have a SF. A lot easier to identify especially on a worn example.
