Can someone PLEASE tell me if these 1943 S Steel Penny are Doubled Die Obverse (DDO) or Repunched Mintmarks (RPM's) or Over Mintmark's (OMM's),.
((--These are 5 seperate 1943 S steel pennies that I posted pictures of--))

    Thank you

based on my limited experience looks like machine doubling to me. Since the MM on older coins was added after the hubbing process doubling of both the date and MM usually indicates machine doubling, the secondary image is also very low to the field, indicating to me machine doubling, but the other posters in here are much better than I am. I am sure they will come along soon to tell you for sure.

It's either machine doubling or die erosion doubling. They are not doubled dies (hub doubling).

Machine Doubling. The entire coin was doubled, not just letters or numbers

Do you know how much 1943 steel pennies can sell for up to 1 million dollars

When I was about 13 years old I found one and thought I was going to be rich. Then I quickly found out they are worthless. At first I thought he was just saying that so I'd sell it to him cheap, then he pointed out a bin full of them that he was selling for like a dime each. I left red faced but wiser. lol

Some sites are now saying to hold on to em ... Not to mention if you actually find a rare Doubled die . I think it's worth holding on to .

I think most of your coins have been plated with some kinda metal. This often gives a doubled look. I'd say 99.9% sure. Profiteers take crusty old steel cent clean the crap and rust off, and replate them.

    It's not worth anything because you don't have a d over s.

  17. Im kinda new to people that are aggressively rude so if I'm wrong why not try to help me with what it may be instead of being a snob

Well the photos are too fuzzy , but most likely it is a MM with die chips or deterioration. No D/S 43 cents have been verified as far as I know, PCGS has none listed, Coppercoins has none listed. There are 2 varieties of a D/S, but in 1944 bronze type. So I would bet on just a normal 'filled' mm, but if you get better photos, please post them , Jim

Members do get a little irritated when the main point of a post is to determine valaue. I suspect some videos on youtube say we are a free "Grading " service as most of them know Nada!! except how to get subscription revenue

Also I have seen some of my own comments paraphrased on Etsy by individuals to assure buyers their crap is real and worth a 100X or more real value.

    Welcome, Jim

@enamel7 was not either rude or being a snob. Your perception of his response is at fault...you just didn't like being told the truth in a matter-of-fact manner...thats on you...Spark

Thank you. I wasn't trying to be rude. Perception of the written word as far as reading emotions is subjective at best. Like you said, I was being straight and to the point. It's not my place to prove my answer, it's the OP's to give us viewable pics to demonstrate his theory.
