I was looking on Ebay and I saw this listing:

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/2758365638...25Kn6twRO4WXt7bhHx|tkp:Bk9SR6axotb9YQ&LH_BO=1

I have heard of Fake Franklin Half Dollars before, but this is really the first coin I have seen that looks fake in a lot.
    What do you think?
I have not yet contacted the seller as I could use some help on this.
It really doesn't look right to me in many respects.
    Any help is appreciated.:)

Below are close up photos of the Franklin Half Dollar from the listing.

My thoughts always go to . . . Why? Why would someone bother making a fake half dollar, but then there was a guy named Henning, wasn't there? LOL

Heck, you could have made them out of real silver and doubled your money. In 1949 a Franklin had 26 cents worth. I'm not saying this one is contemporary.

Glad to see that my eyes are not playing tricks on me!:)
I wonder if newcomers to Franklin Halves would notice a problem.

That is exactly why I look but do not purchase from any site online. Thanks for sharing that very obvious fake.

This looks like a really good seller!
The issue with the Half Dollar has been brought to his attention and he
has promised to make it right for the person who wins the auction.
    A great resolution.

I'm sort of new to Franklin's although I own a few myself. I would have thought this was just an old, tired coin with plenty of circulation. I would have passed on the deal anyways. Who needs this coin when you could have a much better one. ;)

The reverse of the dark Morgan dollar looks a little cartoony as well.

    Yes, that is definitely fake.

I don't understand why anyone would fake a circulated Franklin, though. I'm not convinced its fake... we just don't see dirty circulated Franklins often. I guess I'd want a ring test or something to see if its pot metal - because that Franklin is literally only worth the price of silver.

Check out this screenshot from alibaba.com.
I know it might seem like it is not worth while to fake a Franklin Half, but it is being done.

Yeah China sells all kinds of fake US coins.
Some like this almost seem like fantasy pieces. There are the occasional silver dollar sized Lincoln cents and the like, too. Who knows why they do what they do.

I talked with the seller on the 1949 Franklin. He said if I don't win the listing and he still has it he would contact me later.
Now with the other Morgan being suspect?
    Things could get sticky.
My local guy I think still has an XRF gun.
