Either 1844, 1854, 1864. Hopefully a way using the few attributes that are left on the coin but not too hopeful of that!

Faint but looks to be 1844.

1854. Notice the arrow that remains to the left of the date? The 1844 was struck without arrows, and the 1864 was struck with both an entirely new reverse and obverse. Not to mention, New Orleans did not strike any half dimes in 1864, only San Francisco and Philadelphia.

The 1854 o mint marks were the same size ,as years pryor mm could be sm,med, and lg,
Mintage 1,560,000 slightly better date scarcer in high grades.
Rariety rating R 3 circulated grades R4. In ms.
    Ranks 31/77
Not having pups visable I can only go on what is seen...The date and mm had a high placed date you can see the 5 flag as well top of 4 touches the rock.
This maybe a v6 if I am seeing a rev, rim cud at 10 k.
At first considered a large O it is more the size of the medium style o.

The arrow after the 4 tells you it has to be either 1854 or 1874. In 1854 they had stars on the obv. In 1874 they had UNITED STATES OF AMERICA on the obv. This coin has stars.

Thought seated liberty were minted 1837-1873.

Yes they were but break it down a bit more.
Variety 1 1837-1838, No obverse stars
Variety 2 1838-1853, Stars on obverse
Variety 3 1853-1855, Arrows at date
1856-1859 Variety 2 was resumed but the weight was from Variety 3. In 1859-1860 a transitional die was used.
Variety 4 1860-1873, Legend on obverse

And this is from the RS Yeoman Red Book. If you don’t have one, it worth it to buy one. You can tell is an 1854 using the different types of varieties that were minted on this type of coin. It also has an O or New Orleans mint mark.

Correct. @Conder101 misspoke about 1874 in terms of half dimes. Dimes with arrows were minted in 1874. He was going off of the fact that you know it is a 18*4 date (i.e. 4 is the last digit.).

In summary, you have an ***4-O half dime with arrows...only one coin can have that combination...the 1854-O Half Dime with Arrows.

Yes I was thinking dimes not half dimes.
