It's nice, but the the tradeoff for animation and reasonable file size is loss of resolution. I'd rather see still images of better clarity .
Firstly => IS THIS SORCERY??!! (very, very cool) Secondly => your collection rocks!! (some amazing examples in there, my friend) Thirdly => I'm super hungry (mmmm, bacon would good, eh?) Oh, and I agree that it looks far better slowed-down a tad (again, very cool)
Depends on the number of photos you include and the upload limit of the site. This is a 9.6MB gif comprised of the other photos I posted. reduced to 90% of original size. No resolution change, just size. Rumor is that size does not matter. I guess you do not agree....
TIF has a 90 gram Ptolemy (she is all about size!!) ... yah, I hide in the locker-room when she struts-by!! ... ummm, is it too early for that type of humour? Ooops sorry, I've done it again (super coins, 42)
I like it and I see no problem with the resolution. Problem might be when you have hundreds in your collection?
Yes. I thought of that. However, If you want to have all you collection in one photo for your ipad, iphone, computer, you could stuff everything into one big gif. I have the same gif at original size and resolution (18MB) on my desktop now. Also I can see someone chopping up their collection into themes or subcategories that would comprise 10-20 coins each and being able to put them on-line. Just another way of sharing a collection imo. btw I downloaded the free phtoscape software off CNET after seeing it mentioned on a modern coin thread.
All in all...I LIKE IT. And that's an amazing collection. CONGRATS!!! Can one 'interact' on a fully running display like that?? I mean to pause on a coin and things like that???
I wonder if a free online PowerPoint generator would do the trick...? https://www.google.com/#q=free+online+powerpoint
Not sure. If it did work, I wonder if it would have limited compatibility for those trying to view a ppt without having a viewer or add-on installed to their browser
@4to2centBC, perhaps you should start a nice website for your fabulous coins . www.wix.com has a free version with plenty of features, including all kinds of photo gallery options. It's very easy to use, too-- I use it and am not exceptionally skilled with computer stuff. Having my coin pictures online makes it easier when posting on forums: just copy and paste the image URL.
If I ever thought my little collection was large enough or good enough to warrant a website, I might. But I have seen the likes of your site and AJ's and........well............for now I will limit myself to these obscure corners of the internet. My collection is a rounding error for your collections..... But thank you for the nice compliment. Undeserved as it is.
that's pretty cool 4t2! if you need to show several coins in a limited space but have plenty of room for a large file, that would be great. or you want to compare several coins without having the viewer need to scroll down on a page. i'm playing around with stuff today with gimp, i may try one.
